Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about how we work with organisations.
Working with us
How does an engagement start?
You send us an inquiry through the contact page describing what you need. We reply with questions, arrange a call to understand the problem, and then send a written scope and estimate for your review.
What should we prepare before the first call?
A short description of the problem, who will use the system, any existing software or data involved, and your expected timeline. Sample forms, reports or screenshots of current tools also help.
Who owns the code?
For software built specifically for you, ownership of the source code and data is set out in the written agreement, and our default position is that it belongs to you once the agreed fees are paid. We deliver the code, database and credentials in a usable form at handover.
Where can the software be hosted?
On your own servers, a shared hosting or cPanel account, a virtual server, or a cloud provider such as Microsoft Azure or AWS. We recommend an option based on your budget, traffic and data requirements.
What support do you offer after launch?
We fix defects found after launch as agreed in the contract, and we offer ongoing support and maintenance arrangements covering updates, monitoring, backups and small changes. You can also take over maintenance yourselves using the documentation we provide.
How do you estimate time and cost?
We break the scope into features and tasks, estimate each one, and add time for testing, deployment and handover. Where requirements are unclear, we suggest a short paid discovery phase before giving a fixed estimate.
Will you keep our data and information confidential?
Yes. We are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement before detailed discussions, and we limit access to your data and systems to the team members working on your project.
Can you take over an existing system built by someone else?
Usually, yes. We start with a review of the code, hosting and data to understand its condition, then recommend whether to maintain, improve or gradually replace it.
